SECTION REVIEW

things to write about for section review:
1. problems in the section(write about individuals, not the section as a whole) such as attitude problems, playing problems that you cannot solve, punctuality
2. how do you think the problem can be solved?
3. any improvenments from last month?(e.g. were the problems mentioned in the previous section review solved?)
4. others

section review is to be done by all SLs and ASLs. this is to review the band as a whole and so we can solve problems more effectively. so SLs and ASLs please do this properly. also, note that the review is private and confidential, and do not show it to any of your members. section reviews need to be handed in to the majors on the 1st thursday of every month, which for the month of august is the 1st of august. SLs please hand it in on time. thanks.

so that is for the section review. now talk about drills. friday's drills are not too bad. we did marching on the spot, with markings on the floor. frankly, that makes all your work easier. the thing is that the markings are not going to be there in the real thing, so you have to get used to marching ON THE SPOT. did any of you notice that because you didn't want to march forwards, all of you unconsiously moved backwards? just something to take note of. actually, since we were only doing hentak kaki for the first time, it was not too bad. i can see that most of you are really trying and THAT IS REALLY COMMENDABLE :) now, we should try to make it better.

in case any of you forgot what has been said, we are doing drills because the band needs to take a marching video for SYF by the end of this year. that's why we are practising so hard for drills. more people are coming, which is good. and it is also good that less people are late without a valid reason. anyway, even if you hate drills, just bear with it. IT'S FOR THE BAND. so yeah.

and starting from next month, the band room will be open every wednesday for Individual Practise Routine Programme. while it is not complusory to come and practise, we strongly encourage you to come and practise on your own, or as a section. SLs please encourage your members to come.

oh, and the band badge is arriving soon... :D
